Yakfinities # 43 – Deadline Approaching

CUSTOMIZER SPOTLIGHT #20: RUNDOWN

Rundown Customs....aka ric.sea.jedi....aka Sean....started on ebay buying and selling vintage Star Wars when he came across some custom Star Wars figures and became interested in what he saw. He watched many customizers for a long time and began his research. Finally, he picked up a paintbrush in 2007. Since then Sean has made over 300 custom action figures. More than 200 of which have been private commissions. Rundown says that he truly enjoys the hobby and enjoys requests as well duplicating characters not yet made in toy form.

Naboo Army Build

Nothing is cooler than Hasbro releasing the Vintage Naboo Royal Guard and the Discover the Force Naboo Pilot this 2012 season. These figures provided us with a great way to army build our collections. All it took was a few head swaps to diversify my figures. It really helped me with doing a Rebel Fleet Trooper army build too. We'll save those pics for another day. What I love the most about these figures is the wonderful articulation.

Hasbro take note, I am an eight year old, and I DO want as much articulation as possible. You would never cheat a G.I. Joe action figure buyer out of knee articulation, don't do it to your Star Wars fans. A young audience is a lame excuse for cutting corners. Especially at the prices you charge. We want our Jedi, our bounty hunters, clones and villains to fit into various different positions. These are toys not statues. This is Star Wars people. Action poses for an action driven series.

Ok, now check out what Hasbro got right this year.

Darth Optimus on Episode 24 of Custom Action Figure News

It's another killer interview from one of our all-time favorite podcasts. This time around Lucasclones and Tamer interview Darth Optimus. Hearing from our favorite customizers never gets old. We've been wanting to feature the work of this talented artist for a while now, so it was cool that CAFN got him on their show so all of you can get exposed to his work.

Dathomirian Zabrak

To create this figure, Dad used a head from Slayer Design Studios, cut the horns off the Shirtless Savage Opress Clone Wars action figure, and glued them to the head. He then attached the head to a barely modified Malakili Rancor Keeper action figure. After the build was finished, Dad repainted the figure like a Dathomirian Zabrak and dyed the orange soft goods vest of a Vintage Greedo action figure to finish him off. His gun is from a Vintage Bossk.

Well, I thought it would be fun if in this particular post if we had a little bit of visitor participation for this post.

Please write a story for this figure in the comments section and the story we like best will become the official story for this figure.

Good luck everyone!
