"TONNIKA SISTERS" created by Elias

In 0 BBY, when a mission to transport the Hammertong prototype ended in a stormtrooper ambush, Karoly D'ulin and Shada D'ukal found themselves on Tatooine, and were in the Mos Eisley Cantina when Luke Skywalker first met Han Solo. The women were masquerading as the Tonnika sisters: Karoly was disguised as Senni Tonnika while Shada posed as Brea Tonnika.

Senni Tonnika (Karoly D'ulin) was made using 3.75" The Black Series Padme, which was heavily modified using a Dremel. The pattern on the chest was completely taken away, as well as the scars on the back.  The boots were filled in using ProCreate to give it a smoother texture.  The band on the thigh and belt were also sculpted in using ProCreate.  The collar and sleeves were sculpted into place with Aves Fixit sculpt.  The head was made from a cast supplied by I-Am-Boba-Fett.

Brea Tonnika (Shada D'ukal) was made using the 3.75" Build A Droid Leesub Sirlin.  The overshirt was completely removed using the Dremel, and the collar and sleeves were sculpted with Aves Fixit sculpt. The thigh band and belt were made from ProCreate.  The holster on the boot of Leesub Sirlin wsas simply removed with a razor blade, then sanded to smooth down the surface.  The head was the exact same cast as the first figure, which was supplied by I-Am-Boba-Fett. However, I used paint to make the faces appear different in shape, and structure.

I made them to sell since we have another set of heads we can use to make a set for ourselves at a later date. THIS SET IS NOW SOLD!

Having Angela House ask me to make her a figure of herself was the biggest compliment an artist could ask for.

"YERKA MIG" created by Darth Daddy

Yerka Mig was a male Human Imperial bureaucrat with a high security clearance. As of 0 BBY he had well been established in Tatooine. Mig, stricken with remorse after his home planet Ralltiir was brutally occupied by the Empire, retired and fled to the Outer Rim Territories, pursued by the Imperial Security Bureau. He was a patron in Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina on Mos Eisley, and was hiding from Imperial agents inside when Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker sought passage to Alderaan there.

To create this figure we repainted a Black Series Ceremonial Luke Skywalker and swapped out the head of the figure for a cast that we acquired through a friend.  There is nothing more fum then adding another Cantina denizen to the collection!

"Cantina Distillery" by Hole In The Ground Productions

There is another great piece from Hole In The Ground Productions that we may just have to purchase. This large "Cantina Distillery" kit measures 11 inches long and comes with 26 pieces! Due to complexity and customizing purposes, there is no piping included to connect or suspend the various containers. For those with smaller dioramas in mind, you can purchase one half of the kit. The side that you receive will be random.

$70 (complete kit)

$35 (half kit)

"2X-3KPR Security Patrol Droid" created by Elias

This was a droid that was only shown for a few seconds in A New Hope after R2-D2 escapes the Lars Homestead and Luke uses his binoculars to scan the horizon to search for him. While this random droid wasn't really on our radar initially, Hole In The Ground Productions had a cool resin cadt kit available at their web store, and it was just the small push we needed to add this cool piece to our home display.

2X-3KPR was owned by Owen Lars prior to the Battle of Yavin. It was responsible for patrolling the boundaries of the Lars moisture farm at night. It had been programmed to activate alarm sensors, security lighting and power fences located around the farm for this task.

It was destroyed, however, when sandtroopers came to the homestead searching for R2-D2 and C-3PO and killed Luke Skywalker's adoptive parents in broad daylight.

Elias assembled the kit and painted it up in only a few short hours. All he had to do was add the gun and the wiring from some pieces we had in our fodder.  He couldn't be any more pleased with the results!

"Braconnor Bakiska aka Fu Manchu" created by Darth Daddy

Braconnor Bakiska was a male of the Stennes species who lived during the time of the Galactic Civil War. During the year 0 BBY, Bakiska was present in Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina, located in Mos Eisley on the planet Tatooine. Braconnor Bakiska was sitting inside the entrance to the cantina when the former moisture farmer Luke Skywalker and the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi came to the cantina looking for a pilot to take them to the planet Alderaan. During that time, Bakiska sat at a table with the Defel Arleil Schous, the Advozsec Bom Vimdin, the Arconan Hem Dazon, and the Siniteen Pons Limbic. Some fan somewhere came up with the moniker, “Fu Manchu” for this guy, based on his rather unimpressive mustache dangling from his upper lip.

We sculpted down a Firespeeder Pilot (Battle of Coruscant) action figure from the Saga Collection with a Dremel to remove all of the strapping and reduce the size of the head peg.  After we painted the hood from the Sandstorm Luke Skywalker action figure to recreate the character's wardrobe for this one.  The head is a cast of a sculpt that I was fortunate enough to acquire from a close friend. All we had to do was paint the head to complete the figure.

"DEATH SQUAD COMMANDER" created by Elias

Not only is today Star Wars Day, but this year is also the 40th anniversary of Star Wars! To celebrate Customs for the Kid figured we would bring an old Vintage figure to life that collectors are still waiting to see made with some modern sensibilities. Namely super-articulation...

Action figure collectors were really bummed this year when the Death Star Commander was released in the 6" scale by Hasbro in his black outfit rather than in his original Vintage Imperial greys.  So to pay tribute to the figure from the childhood of the OTC crowd we figured we'd showcase a custom version of the character to celebrate May the 4th.  Elias made the helmet a little more screen accurate and gave the figure a much needed paint job to complete the piece.

It was a great way to enhance the our collection here at home and a fun way to pay tribute to our favorite film franchise.  Stay tuned for a lot more custom action figures from A New Hope throughout the year as we plan to continue paying homage to the film that started it all on its 40 year anniversary.
