ASIS FILM MODELS - THE FORCE AWAKENS "NIMA OUTPOST - BOBBAJO KIT" assembled & painted by ELIAS

This is a project we finished earlier in the year but just got around to posting up on the blog. The "Nima Outpost Model Kit for Bobbajo" produced by Asis Film Models is a 3.75" scale figurine and is a great addition to any Star Wars action figure collection. It is an ultra-detailed resin cast that we purchased online. Once we received it in the mail, we then assembled and painted it by hand.

Bobbajo was a male Nu-Cosian[2] with a white beard who lived on Jakku approximately thirty years after the Battle of Endor.[6] He carried a group of animals around in cages, including frog-like gwerps, chicken-like pishnes, a lonlan, two zhhee and an ill-tempered worrt named J'Rrosch.[2][4] His calm demeanor helped settle down the animals while he transported them.[5] He roamed between the settlements of the planet telling stories to local villagers and entertaining children with the talents of his menagerie. He claimed his creatures were responsible for the destruction of the first Death Star, but few believe him. This earned him the names of the "Storyteller" and the "Crittermonger".[2] Bobbajo was the only other vendor known to be allowed to sell food in Niima Outpost by Unkar Plutt. His customers however, were restricted solely to spacers.[7]

Bobbajo was first shown in "Star Wars: Force for Change - A Message from J.J. Abrams", a video released on YouTube in 2014 in which J.J. Abrams introduced the charity campaign Star Wars: A Force for Change. The video was filmed on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens and showed the creature walking behind Abrams while he talked, at one stage drawing the director's attention. He was one of the first new characters from Episode VII to have been shown. He was portrayed by Aidan Cook in the film.

"9001 Z001 LANDSPEEDER" created by Elias

Six-point-eight meters in diameter, this speeder carried a single pilot. The craft hovered up to three meters above the ground and its numerous viewports allowed its driver an excellent field of vision. While not the speediest of vehicles, able to achieve only 160 kilometers per hour, a ring of micro-thrusters around the hull granted exceptional maneuverability. One of these vehicles was seen parked outside Chalmun's Cantina in "A New Hope".

We had originally purchased a 1:18 scale cast of this ship from Hole In The Ground Productions to display with our personal collection. Sometime after we purchased it, we received a second interpretation of the ship from an alternate seller. When I was thinking of some cool pieces I could produce over my summer break from school that I could sell to make some cash, Dad suggested that I paint up one of the two versions of this speeder that we had sitting on our shelf of future products. To keep costs down for the buyer, I grabbed the less complicated of the two versions to paint up for sale.

It took about 16 hours to paint inside and out. While an unpainted version is still available to purchase from Hole In The Ground for only $48, my painted version will cost considerably more due to all the hours it took to paint and bring to completion.  If anyone is interested in buying this piece, the cost is $275 + shipping. All you need to do is send an email to customsforthekid@gmail.com to let us know you are interested in making the purchase.

"RED BALL JETT ORGAN SPEAKER ADD-ON" painted by Darth Daddy

With many collectors now receiving their Jabba Sail Barges, we thought it would be a good time to let you all know about a way to enhance the Nalargon instrument for your Max Rebo action figure with this cool 3-D printed accessory. For some reason, Hasbro left the speaker to Max Rebo's instrument off when it was released as a toy in stores. Star Wars customizer IzzyMel45, designed a 3-D printed version of the speaker that can be purchased on Shapeways and shipped to your home. We highly recommend purchasing one if you feel your Jabba display looks naked without it. Click the link below to order!

"SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY" CHEWBACCA created by Darth Daddy

This 3.75" super-articulated figure is as easy to make as it gets. Just take a Black Series 3.75" ROTJ Chewbacca and give it the bandoleer of the Force Link 2.0 Chewbacca from the Solo toy line. The goggles are from the  Target Exclusive Vandor-1 Playset Chewbacca.  With all the newly assembled parts you get an easy, no-paint-kitbash custom action figure of your favorite Wookiee in his latest film appearance just in time for Friday's digital release of the film!

I hope we eventually get this figure in the Vintage Collection. We're huge fans of the film here at home, and we'd love to pose him with our Vintage Han Solo and soon to be released Lando Calrissian action figure from this film.

3.75" "CRUSHER" ROODOWN Action Figure painted by Darth Daddy

Roodown, nicknamed "Crusher" Roodown, was an Abednedo scavenger on the planet Jakku that angered his employer, the junk dealer Unkar Plutt, who suspected he was selling salvage to a different buyer. As a consequence, Plutt's thugs cut off his arms, ending his life as a scavenger. However, Roodown was allowed to work for Plutt as a strong back around Niima Outpost using his replacement load-lifter arms, which greatly increased his strength.

He witnessed Plutt being kidnapped by the criminal Zool Zendiat, and described what had happened to the scavenger Rey when she arrived to investigate. When the Star Destroyer Spectral was uncovered by a storm in the desert, Plutt encouraged the scavengers of Niima to ransack it for him and had Roodown throttle the scavenger Teedo when he questioned the junk dealer. Constable Zuvio then sliced off Roodown's mechanical hand in order to stop any further harm befalling Teedo. In 34 ABY, shortly after the First Order attacked the nearby Tuanul village, he passed by Rey in the outpost.

This action figure was made from a very rare cast figure model that was created by ASIS FILM MODELS. It was a limited edition cast and the sculpt is just amazing! When I saw Roodown in The Force Awakens, he was the first character that I knew I wanted an action figure of. Unfortunately, Hasbro never made him. Fortunately for me, ASIS FILM MODELS did. The cast was a lot of fun to paint and I really love the design of the cast. Unlike the majority of ASIS's offerings that are completely static, this cast actually has ball jointed shoulders. He looks great on display with all of our other Force Awakens action figures.

We highly recommend the offerings of ASIS FILM MODELS.

CLONE WARS "SERGEANT HOUND & GRIZZER" created by Elias

This was a clone trooper we have been wanting to get to for a long time now. Hound was an ARF Trooper sergeant of the Coruscant Guard who was stationed at the Republic military base during the Clone Wars. To make the figure we used the body from a Clone Wars Commander Wolffe action figure with a casted helmet that was sent to us by a friend. To finish the figure I just added the signature paint applications.

In 20 BBY, shortly after the bombing of the Jedi Temple hangar, Letta Turmond, who was responsible for planting the explosives, was taking into Republic custody at the Military base on Coruscant. After Turmond died, having believed to be murdered by Ahsoka Tano, Hound was part of the team that searched the base for Tano with his massiff, Grizzer. The massiff picked up on Tano's scent and led him towards her. However, she narrowly evaded them and escaped on top of the Geonosis monument. Hound later went with Grizzer and the others of his group to corner Tano.
