DARTH DADDY's CUSTOMIZING CORNER: LORD SIXTH CUSTOMS

David Rodriguez, aka Lord Sixth Customs is a Spaniard who has been living in England for almost 4 years now. He has been collecting figures for more than 15 years (mainly Hasbro, Kotobukiya and Sideshow). He always loved people's customs and thought that he would never have the skills to make his own. His first crack at customizing started almost two years ago; as a fan of the Boba Fett from the "Holiday Special", Lord Sixth Customs thought that it would be a cool idea to paint the version from Kotobukiya in tenth scale. The final result was good, but not as good as he had hoped. From that moment, he kept painting different figures, and working with different scales, doing good and bad things, learning from the mistakes, and little by little improving his skills. He's very humble, and he'll still tell you he is a rookie, but anyone who sees his work knows that he has some serious talent. He have been posting my work as "coleccionismosw" on the Sideshowcollectors forums, but it was an improvised name that he never liked, so in order to create something a bit more original he created the "Lord Sixth" moniker with the "Sixth" to represent the scale he works in. Definitely check out the links because this artist has a large body of work to explore.  Most of his customs were still in Spain and he didn't have the ability to photograph them for this feature but plenty more photos exist in the provided links.  Enjoy!

DARTH DADDY's CUSTOMIZING CORNER: My Kind of Scum

Darth Daddy's Customizing Corner featured Star Wars customizer My Kind of Scum in his latest post over at The Star Wars Underworld.

Loje Nella

My Kind of Scum (also known as Craig in other 'real world' circles) was born in Ohio and currently lives in Wyoming. He has been a fan of Star Wars since seeing A New Hope in theatres (meaning he's old). Over the years, his fandom has only grown through the Original Trilogy, the Prequels, releases by West End Games, and the enormous catalogue of the Expanded Universe/ Legends. The first customizing he ever did was when the POTF2 line was in its infancy. He would heat figure's joints to bend them into poses, and changed out figure heads, etc.

Later, after seeing what other customizers were accomplishing he was fully drawn into the customizing world and has been seriously customizing ever since. Currently, he's trying to teach himself how to sculpt and to add articulation to figures so that he can take his customizing to the next level. He prefers to create his own characters and has been doing prep work for years on a photonovel series that he hopes to one day get off of the ground. He cites Star Wars customizer/photonovelist, Chewie as one of his greatest inspirations.

DARTH DADDY's CUSTOMIZING CORNER: Ric Customs

Darth Daddy's Customizing Corner featured Star Wars custom action figure artist Ric Customs in his latest post over at The Star Wars Underworld.

This week's featured artist is Ric Customs from Singapore. He's a big fan of Star Wars and Bruce Lee. His artwork is mainly custom Star Wars action figures. His work pays homage to the video games of Star Wars from The Old Republic to The Force: Unleashed.  He also finds inspiration from The Clone Wars animated series.    I really suggest using the links I provided below to see more of his work because this artist has been busy.  He has a vast body of work filled with material I haven't seen anywhere else. Ric Customs' Mandalorian action figures are must view material!

DARTH DADDY's CUSTOMIZING CORNER: HALCION

Darth Daddy's Customizing Corner featured Star Wars custom action figure artist HALCION in his latest post over at The Star Wars Underworld.

6" "THE FORCE AWAKENS" STORMTROOPER created by HALCION

Last week, I introduced you all to Star Wars customs action figures inspired by the recent teaser we were all privy to the day after Thanksgiving. I had several artists on display for that feature and one artist really caught my eye.  I have only recently been introduced to his work, but HALCION has been cranking out projects at lightning speed.  I'm really impressed with what he has been putting together in the 6" scale, especially his vehicles.

Brandon Flores aka HALCION was born in Los Angeles in 1974. His late father Fernando Flores was a well known fashion illustrator who had a huge passion for toys and film, particularly Star Wars. At around 5 years old Brandon started getting curious, digging through his fathers art supplies, he discovered the X-acto blade and screwdriver, two tools that sent him spiraling out of control! He began taking apart all his toys and reassembling them into new creations. Brandon has not stopped making toys since then. He is not only limited to toy design, he also is a graphic artist, painter, and clothing designer with a huge passion for underground music and sound exploration.  His most recent works combine full scratch built vehicles, and dioramas with completely original parts adding his vision to the toys and the Star Wars universe.
