BITH ENDOR REBEL SOLDIER created by Darth Daddy

After Dad finished making me an Ithorian Rebel Soldier, Dad wanted to create a few more alien Endor Rebel soldiers. Dad saw a cool dark skinned Bith action figure created a few years ago by Von Reinhardt Customs.  Ever since Dad saw the figure, he wanted to do a variation on the theme.  When Dad went to create a new Endor Rebel soldier, he felt the time had come to make one.  To make this figure, Dad used a Bith head cast that was created by Sithhappens, and placed it on a G.I. Joe Renegades Ripcord action figure.  Then Dad just repainted the figure.

I really like what Dad has been making lately and I can't wait to see what he does next.

ONE COOL CUSTOMIZING FAD

At the beginning of this year we saw a lot of customizers taking advantage of combining the Vintage Gamorrean Guard with Marvel Universe Series 3 World War Hulk Action Figure. Both JACKOFTRADZE and Von Reinhardt put out variations on the figure and we know there were several more customizers who tackled the project also. When we saw fellow customizers results, we knew we wanted one too.

Knowing that the Vintage Ga
morrean Guard was hard to come by this year, Dad didn't have the heart to cannibalize the figure to make his custom Gamorrean Gladiator action figure. He did have the heart to use parts from the POTF version though. Dad cut off the head of the figure and used the Dremel to make a hole in the head to make it ball jointed. All he had to do from there was paint the head to match the body.

His first time in the arena, this gladiator is about to earn his first battle scars.

If he lives that is...

Dad painted the back of the action figure's head with a chainmail colored paint to make his headwear appear metallic.

I bet you Marvel collectors are hating us Star Wars customizers for the reduced number of World War Hulk figures on the pegs.

Guess he's going to have to wait until his next challenge to earn those scars.

OTHER VARIATIONS.....

The first Gamorrean Gladiator custom action figure I ever saw was created by customizer Dan Curto which also used the head of a POTF Gamorrean Guard action figure with the body of an EXTREME SOLDIERS action figure.

VON REINHARDT: REBEL BOMBAY's TWIN BROTHER

Von Reinhardt of I [HEART] STAR WARS recently posted a custom action figure of Rebel Bombay's Twin Brother. Dad created Rebel Bombay back in January and thought it was cool when Von Reinhardt posted one of his own on Wednesday. His figure came out great and we wanted to let you all have a peak at this post too.

Love the accessories Von Reinhardt used on his figure. The backpack is boss.

VON REINHARDT CUSTOMS ADDED TO "CUSTOMS I WISH I OWNED"

VON REINHARDT CUSTOMS

Von Reinhardt aka Darth Von Frost is a 41 year old customizer from Canada and has been a Star Wars fan since he can remember. He owned a ton of original toys back in the early 1990's but had to sell off that collection. In 2010 he was bit by the Star Wars bug after seeing a few of the new and amazingly detailed action figures and started to collect once again. But now he will only buy figures that he really wants or toys he could use as custom fodder.
He does not collect vehicles or ships because he feels they are expensive and take up way too much space.

After seeing some amazing customs from JACKOFTRADZE and buying an abundance of customs from him, he, like us, thought he'd try to create some of his own.

He then started his own blog, I {HEART} STAR WARS this month to showcase some of his own customs and also show some of the new figures that are coming out. He has been making his own customs since SEPT 2010. ...so he says he is still honing his painting skills.
