CUSTOMIZER SPOTLIGHT #30: MARCUS STARKILLER

So it's time to present our latest edition of Customizer Spotlight.  For the month of May, we grabbed two of the newer additions to my collection that were made by Star Wars customizer Marcus Starkiller.  He made a super-articulated Aurra Sing that we couldn't pass up.  We even got a sweet bonus figure when it shipped.

We came across the Star Wars custom action figures of customizer John Bandow, aka Marcus Starkiller, while surfing the forums of Rebelscum and like us he's a huge Star Wars fan. We were really impressed with not only his customs, but also the work he put into their presentation. He recently started to sell some of his customs, and we picked up the above Aurra Sing custom action figure to add to my collection.  He threw in a New Republic Neimodian A-Wing Pilot for free.  Check out his figures and pick up a few yourselves. We can't say how impressed we were with his action figures, and we are sure that you will be too.

AURRA SING "ASSASSIN" EPISODE OUTFIT

I asked Dad to make me an Aurra Sing in the outfit that she wore in the "Assassin" episode from Season 3 of Clone Wars. The action figure is only a simple repaint that anyone could do with the Clone Wars Aurra Sing action figure found in stores now. He also trimmed down the antenna on the figure to make it look closer to what it would really look like.

Aurra Sing: The Antenna Dilemma

What's up with Hasbro and their Aurra Sing releases? First they release her without her antenna and then when they finally do in the Clone Wars version, they make the antenna on her head look like a giant white ruler and nothing like what it's supposed to. I'm sure they had durability in mind, but something has to give. So at home we took matters into our own hands.

For the Clone Wars Aurra Sing, Dad grabbed the scissors, cut the antenna in half, grabbed a sharp knife from the kitchen drawer, cut the base of the antenna from the rear to the front leaving half of what was there previously. He then cut a small piece from the part he removed and krazy glued that small piece to the top of the antenna that remained attached to the figure. Then he painted the antenna with silver paint, sealed it, and she was complete. I like my new Aurra Sing much better.
