"Zeb's Extended Bo-Rifle" created by Darth Daddy

As soon as I finished creating the extended bo-rifle for my custom Agent Kallus action figure, I knew I needed to create an extended bo-rifle to use with our Zeb action figures.  Especially if we wanted to recreate that epic battle between Kallus and Zeb in the Rebels episode Droids in Distress.

To make the extended version of Zeb's AB-75 bo-rifle I used some clear styrene rod and then used twisted clear rubber bands to simulate the pulsing energy strands found at the ends.  It used two of Zeb's rifles to arrange the bo-rifle the way that I did it.  I included work in progress pictures at the bottom so you can see where I extended the bo-rifle with the polystyrene rod.  The clear rubber bands are glued in place with krazy glue.  I drilled through and into some of the Hasbro bow rifle parts so the polystyrene would have stronger connections when glued into place.

Dad used 2 bo-rifles, clear styrene rod, krazy glue and clear rubber bands to create an extended bo-rifle for Zeb.

After I painted the bo-rifle a uniform color and painted the clear rubber bands purple, I added a brown wash to bring out the details.  Afterwards, I painted the bandages on the weapon a light beige color, and then added a brown wash over that paint layer as well.

Dad's version of "Zeb's Extended Bo-Rifle" was featured on the front page of Imperial Shipyards.

My Custom Birthday Present

A few weeks ago was my birthday, and like last year, Dad made me a customized Star Wars gift. He recently made me into an action figure, but the drawback of the action figure was that it couldn't go into a Jedi Starfighter without ruining the paint job Dad had given it. So when my birthday came around, he provided me with a solution to my dilemma. A starfighter that could help me travel the Star Wars galaxy. To do this he modified a G.I. Joe vehicle and gave it a Star Wars feel.

Love the escape pod!!

X-Wing Astromech Droid

Dad painted the R2-D2 on this Vintage POTF X-Wing over a year ago to diversify my X-wing fleet. This may have been his "real" first custom come to think of it. Although back then, he didn't consider himself to be a customizer. I don't even think he knew what a customizer was back then.

Last Year's Birthday Present

So with October quickly approaching, my seventh birthday is just around the corner. So naturally like any kid my age, my mind is on birthday presents. Last year, as a present for my 6th birthday, Dad restored and customized an old Dagobah playset that they used to make when he was a kid . He was really proud when he had it all finished and I loved having a new home for Yoda. I asked him to do a post for the playset, but he still hasn't gotten around to it. I figure if I put up two pictures from our weekend experiment we just documented called Saturday at Our House which is now located in the link at the top right of the screen, he will hopefully get around to doing a post for his customized Dagobah playset. Keep your fingers crossed.

A One Minute Custom: Leia in Imperial Officer Disguise

For this custom action figure, Dad said all that you need is a Juno Eclipse: The Force Unleashed: Anniversary Collection action figure and the new Vintage Original Trilogy Collection: Hoth Princess Leia. Take the head off of each action figure and put the Leia head on the Juno Eclipse body and you have a sweet looking Leia in an Imperial Officer Disguise. Of course this is a trick that could be used with a variation of figures to create a desired action figure.
