"WED-9-M1" created by Elias

Hole In The Ground Productions has a new droid kit available on their web store full of great resin cast pieces made to enhance your dioramas and display shelves.  Their latest WED-9 is a fun day project that only requires some paint, sandpaper and krazy glue. I first sanded down any small imperfections in the cast, then primed the figure in black paint before I dry brushed in some color. After, I applied multiple washes to give the droid the "used" look.

When everything was completely painted, I glued on the head and arms to finish up the figure.  He looks great on display along with the other figures found in our Mos Eisley street display.

WED-9-M1, also known as a bantha droid, was a WED Treadwell droid seen around Mos Eisley. Built out of spare parts by Jawas, it was owned by Ohwun and Chachi De Maal.

"JABBA's PALACE - DROID TORTURE RACK" created by Hole in the Ground Productions

Not every droid's owner is a nice one, so you better do your job well. If you have the wrong kind of master, you may find yourself disintegrated on a cruel device like the droid torture rack!

This kit comes in four unpainted pieces. A top and bottom in cast resin and two aluminum "pistons" that glue into place. When assembled, it measures approximately 6" wide by 6" tall. This diorama piece was not made to fit a specific action figure, so you will have to decide how best to display it. You may have to modify a figure for best results.

We saw this on Facebook last night and grabbed a set afraid they'd sell out fast.  Grab yours while you can!

StarWarsGeek Custom Supply Shop

This weekend at Star Wars Spectacular, we got a visit from customizer Dave Castle aka StarWarsGeek who brought us some awesome samples of some casted heads that he sells at the StarWarsGeek Custom Supply Shop webstore! What you will find here for sale are custom cast parts and supplies for creating your own custom action figures. All parts are cast at his home studio. He will NEVER sell any parts that he feels are unusable. All parts are cast in opaque colors and may ship to you in any of the following colors: black, flesh, brown, white, blue, red, yellow, gray. (He can not take requests for specific colors at this time.)

You may remember the tutorials he made on molding and casting that we posted a ways back.  They are super informative.  Also be sure to check out his Youtube page and blog.
