TWELFTH PARSEC STORE - NOW OPEN!

Last night we received an email from Twelfth Parsec to let us know that their new online store is open for business.  Those of you who participated in their Indiegogo Space Trees campaign know how good the quality is on these products.  Their webstore offers their Space Tree sets with expansion pieces, as well as some "new" quality "Who Shot First" diorama sets with or without LED lighting.

We recommend heading over and grabbing all your wallets will allow!

"C1-10P" aka "CHOPPER" with Accessories by DARTH DADDY

So I wasn't really happy with the first custom action figure of Chopper that I made, so I took one more crack at him.  This time I used the arms from the front of the Ralph McQuarrie R2-D2 that I realized I should have used immediately after finishing my last version.  It's funny how the best piece could be right there under your nose and you still completely miss it. I inserted magnets at each end of the arm for articulation.

I also added a few extra accessories that I didn't provide the last time around. A wheel made from a recycled plastic Chinese food container, some clear styrene rod, a magnet, and some Green Stuff. Once I finished the fabrication of the wheel, I sculpted a rocket booster from Green Stuff, glue gun, that I then finished off with a few washes of sepia and red.  I really like that these simple modifications provided so much more from this Chopper compared to my last stab at it.   I just showed this figure on the last episode of The Wolpack Podcast when I appeared as a guest, so I figured I should finish him up and get him posted since he was sort of revealed already.

Hope you all enjoy!

Small magnets were inserted in the head to attach and articulate the arms.

A magnet was attached at the base of the figure also.

As well as to the top of the wheel.

I even put a magnet into the rocket booster.

I still want to make a few adjustments to the rocket booster before I'll call this one complete.

CUSTOMIZER SPOTLIGHT UPDATE: THE INQUISITOR with INCREASED ARTICULATION created by SWK KUSTOMS

Another Star Wars Rebels character gets some increased articulation thanks to SWK Kustoms.  The figure was well worth the expense of having to make it myself. The joints SWK Kustoms added are seamless and strong. These are very well engineered figures. While, the custom figures that he has made do lack ball jointed shoulders, even I will admit as a seasoned customizer myself, that even I would forgo the modification. It would be more trouble than it was worth. Almost all of us complained about the 5 points of articulation in the Rebels line that Hasbro was releasing, so it's nice to know that there are customizers out there providing the articulation that we all desire to give our figures more pose-ability for play.

With around 300 customs under his belt, SWK Kustoms specializes in fully articulated figures! SWK Kustoms creates fully articulated and detailed Custom 4” figures. Star Wars, Star Trek, DC, Marvel or anything you can think of. With SWK you can also become your favorite character as well: Jedi, Sith, Storm trooper, Mandalorian and much more. Figures can be purchased upon request. Price is based on how hard the piece is to make, usually between $50-150. All figures come with specialized weapons or gear & name plate stands.

LUKE SPRYWALKER @ VIRGINIA COMICON and TOY SHOW on FEB. 7, 2015

If you are in the Richmond, Virginia area this upcoming weekend, be sure to check out the  Virginia Comicon and Toy Show on Saturday, February 7, 2015 that is being held at the Richmond Raceway Complex.  Star Wars custom action figure artist Luke Sprywalker will have a table at the event where he will be selling Star Wars toys, as well as some of his custom action figures and dioramas.

Luke Sprywalker is a great ambassador for the Star Wars customizing community. Sprywalker is regularly promoting customizing contests in fan forums and he's a custom action figure moderator for the forums at Imperial ShipyardsLuke Sprywalker was also an excellent representative for the hobby because he does diorama work and does more than just dabble when it comes to vehicle creation. Sprywalker even created the characters for the photo novel Star Wars Apocalypse written by Nate Ciurla aka Kessel Run Imports and with graphic design and action figures created by Julian Maurice aka Hangarbay94. Luke Sprywalker has had his hands in every aspect of the hobby. The Jabba's Palace diorama he built was full of his custom figures and were on display the entire length of Celebration VI at the Diorama Workshop. He was also one of three Star Wars custom action figure artists to speak at the first ever Star Wars Custom Action Figure Panel held at Star Wars Celebration VI.  It's worth going to the event just to see Luke Sprywalker's work up close and in person.
