"2X-3KPR Security Patrol Droid" created by Elias

This was a droid that was only shown for a few seconds in A New Hope after R2-D2 escapes the Lars Homestead and Luke uses his binoculars to scan the horizon to search for him. While this random droid wasn't really on our radar initially, Hole In The Ground Productions had a cool resin cadt kit available at their web store, and it was just the small push we needed to add this cool piece to our home display.

2X-3KPR was owned by Owen Lars prior to the Battle of Yavin. It was responsible for patrolling the boundaries of the Lars moisture farm at night. It had been programmed to activate alarm sensors, security lighting and power fences located around the farm for this task.

It was destroyed, however, when sandtroopers came to the homestead searching for R2-D2 and C-3PO and killed Luke Skywalker's adoptive parents in broad daylight.

Elias assembled the kit and painted it up in only a few short hours. All he had to do was add the gun and the wiring from some pieces we had in our fodder.  He couldn't be any more pleased with the results!

"DEATH SQUAD COMMANDER" created by Elias

Not only is today Star Wars Day, but this year is also the 40th anniversary of Star Wars! To celebrate Customs for the Kid figured we would bring an old Vintage figure to life that collectors are still waiting to see made with some modern sensibilities. Namely super-articulation...

Action figure collectors were really bummed this year when the Death Star Commander was released in the 6" scale by Hasbro in his black outfit rather than in his original Vintage Imperial greys.  So to pay tribute to the figure from the childhood of the OTC crowd we figured we'd showcase a custom version of the character to celebrate May the 4th.  Elias made the helmet a little more screen accurate and gave the figure a much needed paint job to complete the piece.

It was a great way to enhance the our collection here at home and a fun way to pay tribute to our favorite film franchise.  Stay tuned for a lot more custom action figures from A New Hope throughout the year as we plan to continue paying homage to the film that started it all on its 40 year anniversary.

"REEGESK" created by Darth Daddy

Reegesk was a Ranat scavenger and experienced thief from Aralia, known as a fair trader. He regularly traded with Jawas such as Het Nkik. Reegesk was not picky, and was willing to steal anything, even trash. His tribe needed power for their bootleg vaporator unit, so he went into Mos Eisley to look for a power source. He attempted to trade a Sand People battle idol to Nkik in Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina, during which he quietly stole the power source of Nkik's BlasTech Industries DL-44 for use with his tribe's vaporator, leading to the death of Nkik, not knowing his gun had no power during a shootout with stormtroopers.

In all honesty, this figure took me about 30 minutes to make.  Exactly as long as it took me to drill the headcast, place it on the body I had in fodder, and sew the soft good robe shut. In less than hour I was able to add another desired character to our Cantina display.

Super-Articulated "First Order Riot Control Stormtrooper" & "First Order Heavy Artillery Stormtrooper" created by Customs for the Kid

Yesterday we received our "First Order Legion" set that was exclusive to Amazon.com.  We were thrilled when we saw that the accessories from these figures could just as easily be used on the Wal-mart exclusive Black Series "First Order Stormtrooper" action figures.  We immediately added the accessories and made super-articulated versions of our two favorite characters from the set.

"ECHO BASE COMPUTER CONSOLES" painted by Elias

Elias was really happy to embellish his Echo Base shelf with some new accessories to enhance his display.  These beefy computer consoles have engraved detail on front and sides. We chose to grab a monitor offset to both the left and right. The monitors included decals for 4 different consoles so we could mix and match for tons of options! The consoles measure 2.25" wide x 2" deep x 4.75" tall.

Elias recently purchased and customized Hole In the Ground's "Echo Base Computer Consoles" and he couldn't be happier with his decision.  For those active in fan forums, you are probably already familiar with the awesome diorama pieces that Hole In the Ground Productions offers to fellow collectors. Hole In the Ground's offerings are just too cool to not be part of any Star Wars 3.75″ collection.

"DROID FLIPPER" painted by Elias

For those active in fan forums, you are probably already familiar with the awesome diorama pieces that Hole In the Ground Productions offers to fellow collectors. Hole In the Ground's offerings are just too cool to not be part of any Star Wars 3.75″ collection.  Elias recently purchased and customized Hole In the Ground's new Robot Flipper.  The item was a great way to embellish the Droid Torture Chamber section of his Jabba shelf space by displaying this newly painted accessory.  Elias used cinnamon to add the rust color to this piece.  The new addition looks great posed with Elias' super-articulated 8D8 droid that he created a ways back.
