Star Wars Celebration Anaheim - Action Figure Customizing Panel Video Presentation & Commemorative Video

Sillof provided the audience with an introduction to the hobby, and explained the different types of customs that exist. He gave a brief overview of how custom action figures are made, how to disassemble and reassemble action figures, sculpting help, paint tips, as well as information on molding and casting. Other topics covered were 3-D printing, as well as the supplies and resources that Star Wars custom action figure artists utilize in their step-by-step process.

Six artists were featured: PeakOB1, Sillof, Sith_fire30, Chewie, and Customs for the Kid aka Darth Daddy & Elias. It's was a huge honor for us to be included in the featured artists at this year's panel.

The Panel had some of the best Celebration exclusives available, random giveaways of Star Wars custom action figures created by the featured artists. This was one panel you didn't want to miss.

If you were bummed that Hasbro had no 3 3/4" exclusive for Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2015, fear not.  The artists that are being showcased at the Action Figure Customizing Panel have provided some of the coolest Celebration exclusives ever available at a Star Wars Celebration event.  Artists like Chewie, PeakOB1, Sith_fire30, and Elias of Customs for the Kid have all provided unique action figure art that were given away to lucky attendees at the Panel.

Hyperdrive Added to "Customs I Wish I Owned"

When it comes to customizing, Hyperdrive's signature "weathered and worn" soft goods are unique. He has been honing his craft for many years with no studio, only his wife's sewing room and kitchen island. It takes about a week to create each figure with great care and attention to detail. Each piece starts with an "ultra articulated" custom base figure, sanded down to remove any features that may reveal a bump or bulge from under the custom clothes. The clothes are then custom crafted to the size and shape of each figure for the best possible fit. Hyperdrive strives for maximum articulation underneath the fabric giving the figure a realistic look. Some of his favorite characters include, Kenobi, Qui Gon Jinn, Vader, Yoda, General Veers, Watto, Maul, Greedo, Jawas and Gamorreans.

Hyperdrive's soft goods work is just amazing! Once we saw his figures we knew we had to include his work amongst the other artists we have featured here on our blog. Our video museum full of talented Star Wars custom action figure artists just wouldn't have been complete without him. Hyperdrive is the guy that Hasbroshould hire to handle all the soft good clothing design on all figures going forward, but don't take our word for it, check out his custom action figures in the video below.

Dad started posting over at IMPERIAL SHIPYARDS http://www.imperialshipyards.net/ around the time we started this blog. The forum was full of talented artists all with a love for Star Wars. Forum member Wraithnine today posted a Youtube video showcasing what the incredible talent has unleashed at the Shipyards in 2010.
