"ZIRO THE HUTT" custom action figure created by Darth Daddy

Well we didn't see him at SDCC and rumor is we'll never see him. Dad has been wanting to create a Ziro the Hutt action figure for a long time now. He had a CW Jabba the Hutt sitting in the corner of the kitchen for a few months now and this weekend he finally got started on the project. This particular Jabba toy is starting to go for a lot of money on ebay, so you want to grab one before it goes out of your price range. Hasbro recently announced that they will not be making Ziro as an action figure so this is the only way you will be able to obtain the first villain of the Clone Wars television series.

Dad used phosphorescent acrylics so Ziro's tattoos would glow under a black light.

Dad used frames taken from the "Hunt for Ziro" episode to figure out the paint scheme for his Ziro action figure.

The headdress is held on with magnets inserted into Ziro's head and on the headdress itself.

DROIDWORLD ADDED TO "CUSTOMS I WISH I OWNED"

Christopher aka Droidworld, has been making custom figures and dioramas since 1978, when he used a marker to change R2-D2 into another robot and put him in a bookshelf diorama with packing material walls and a cut out door. He has improved since then, though still uses found objects and dollar store materials to manipulate and expand on what Hasbro/Kenner has to offer us. (Or has not offered us!) Droids, being his first love, have been the focus of his customs, but as he started seeking other customizers on the internet, through Curto's Alliance, NiubNiub's Universe and Forgotten Force, he has expanded to humans and aliens of the Star Wars universe as well. Now showcasing his work on Rebelscum and Imperial Shipyards, he is quite happy pass on any information that has helped him along the way.

Another Quick Custom

With summer here, Dad has given customizing a back seat, but he still took a few minutes to get a quick custom together for the blog this week. He made this Jedi, with the body of a Vintage Obi Wan Kenobi, a Wolverine head, and the cloak of the new Vintage Nikto Jedi on pegs now.

Dad hollowed out the head a bit with a Dremmel to give the head a snug fit.
