Ralph McQuarrie Custom Contest

Imperial Shipyard's next Customs Contest!

Hot off the press, Luke Sprywalker announces the next custom contest: the Ralph McQuarrie Challenge. This one is wide open. You can create a custom figure, vehicle, or dio and as long as it is new work and is inspired by one of Mr. McQuarrie's Concepts (Yes, you need to show the artwork that inspired your custom). You can read the full details in the Contest Thread. We hope this can be a lasting tribute to the man who helped create our most favored hobby.

CAFN: Episode 32 - Roundtable - State of Collecting

STAR WARS PODCASTS

Dad missed taking part in this episode due to unforseen circumstances. In this roundtable Custom Action Figure News tried to stay positive as they discussed the dismal state of collecting right now and the distribution issues that seem to be the root of it all. Is collecting a dying hobby? Find out as they delve into it with former guests Luke Sprywalker and Wraithnine as well as, newcomer and admin of Jedi Temple Archives, Paul Harrison. Listen as they offer their opinions, theories and conspiracies on the state of collecting today. (download)

On another note tech issues struck in the form of an echo due to the live broadcast. Good news is they discovered the issue and will have that resolved for next show. Live feature is not going anywhere.

Nikto Mechanic

Dad threw this figure together and I painted him.  He is made from a Wilrow Hood body and Fi-Ek Sirch head and hands. The vest is from some G.I. Joe fodder and the hoses are from a Bossk figure and some other fodder we had laying around.
