"CUSTOMS FOR THE KID" 2025 - YEAR IN REVIEW

With me studying for my Industrial Design degree at UCONN and Dad working overtime every week, the time needed to make custom action figures has been in short supply. Usually, I have my commissions to fall back on for posts, but a good portion of my year was spent making action figures for "Josie and the Pussycats" and "Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space" toy lines. Not ideal content for a Star Wars custom action figure blog. Therefore, original fully sculpted figures that we made here at home were in shorter supply than in previous years.

To overcome the deficit, our customs this year were focused a lot more on a continued tradition at the blog...showcasing third-party custom offerings available for sale from other artists in the community that our readers can use to flesh out their own 3.75" Star Wars action figure collections.

We still made a handful of figures from scratch like our Captain Bombardier, Duchess Zilla, as well as a few variations of Assaj Ventress, but the rest of what we shared was what can be done with offerings from our friends who sell their custom creations. These figures were the product of some home assembly and adding our own detailed paint applications.

Life got busy this year, but our passion has not decreased, and we will continue to develop new exciting art projects to share when we are able.

We would like to give a big thanks to the HalcAnon Podcast for having me on earlier this year to discuss one of my other artistic exploits...special fx make-up applications. It offers a great introduction to some techniques that can be adopted by those who like to cosplay.

We would like to thank the Bespin Refugee at Jedi Insider for the "Custom of the Week" features this year. Where we got to show off both some of our original work and some collaborative efforts we got to take part in.

It was a real honor to have Chris Bartlett the actor who played Q-90 share the action figure we made on his Instagram story this year!

Enjoy the video below of this year's creations.
