Customs for the Kid contributes to Nivrerex Film's "Star Wars Stop Motion Bounty Hunters"

A few months ago, Ervin Ramirez Mendez of Nivrerex Film contacted Customs for the Kid to see if we could make some Clone Wars Weequay pirates for an upcoming stop motion film he was making. We didn't have time to make a bunch of new pirates, but Darth Daddy sent Nivrerex a handful of casts from Dad's Weequay pirate headsculpt with instructions on how to paint them up once they were placed on some bodies. Ervin did an awesome job painting two of the casts for his latest "Star Wars Stop Motion Bounty Hunters" short. It was really exciting to see something we created end up in a stop motion film! Especially one that is so much fun to watch!

Clone Wars "Unidentified Weequay Pirate 1 (Florrum)" created by Elias

This is an action figure that I created with two Shahan Alama action figures and some Clone Wars Quinlan Vos hands.  First I modified the boots with some green stuff.  Made them flap over at the top.  I repainted the arms, legs, and torso.  I also repainted the hat, cummerbund and the shoulder armor too.  I used a scrap of dried flat green stuff, cut it into shape, and glued it below the ears to modify the Shahan Alama figure so he wore a bandana.  I used the blue gloved forearm from two Shahan Alama figures to do his forearms.  I couldn't use the Shahan Alama hand because he only had one regular hand to work with.  The Clone Wars Quinlan Vos action figure supplied the perfect replacements.  I didn't want to see the extra heads go to waste and this was a great way to give them some use. When I saw him on the show and I saw I had the parts to do it, I figured it was meant to be.

Around 20 BBY, this pirate informed Jiro that a ship's hyperdrive and main reactor were inactive. After that, when it turned out that Darth Maul and his brother Savage Opress were on the ship, this pirate along with Jiro and some of the other pirates joined them against Hondo Ohnaka. Later on, when the two Sith were overpowered by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hondo, the remaining pirates joined Hondo again, and helped him to chase the brothers away from Florrum.

My Clone Wars Weequay Pirate was featured on the front page of Imperial Shipyards.  Unfortunately, Dad got the credit for him.  I guess I should be happy that someone thought my custom looked good enough to be one of his.

CLONE WARS WEEQUAY PIRATE with MASSIFF created by ELIAS

So recently my Dad made a baggie full of kitbashed Clone Wars Weequay Pirate action figures from his own headcasts, Shahan Alama  action figures, and Hondo Ohnaka action figure bodies.  The bag also has an assortment of pirate knives, goggles, blasters, and braids.  You just grab a body and accessorize it however you want.  Every kids dream really. This particular pirate sported the lower arms and braids of a Hondo Ohnaka, while the rest of the body was from the Shahan Alama except the head that was created by my Dad from a cast of his own sculpt.  I added a paint job to the action figure to make him my own unique creation.

My favorite part of this project was the Massiff.  I found him in the fodder, but he didn't have a harness.  I took a run to the nearest arts and craft store and picked up the lather strapping, chain, and silver links and fabricated my own harness.  I love the way that it came out!  Another cool addition to my Hondo Ohnaka gang!

I love making pirates!
