BOTWT ADDED TO "CUSTOMS I WISH I OWNED"

Our latest customizer hails from Grand Island, NY. BOTWT says he is still trying to figure out this collecting and converting thing, but he says he does okay for a neurologically damaged oaf. He credits his great wife of 8 years who allows him to spend loads of cash on his hobbies and to act like an over sized child of 40 years…but he's sure that fills her need to mother something. BOTWT was only 7 years old when Star Wars came out and became an instant fan, he had been out of the collecting game for quite some time and has only recently started back up with a few of the Clone Wars figures. He said he thinks he likes them because the "cartoony-ness" of the figures reminds him of the original figures he collected when he was a kid. He recently started a blog of his custom action figures and he hopes his blog encourages you in your collecting and customizing of Star Wars figures.

TWO QUICK CUSTOM ACTION FIGURES MADE FROM SPARE PARTS

Here are two very easy action figures made from some spare parts that we had laying around the house. These two figures are ideal first custom action figures for a beginner customizer. The first is a simple head swap with a Padawan braid and pony tail glued onto the head and then finished off with only a quick paint application for the hair. It was made with a Zett Jukassa body and the carded Clone Wars Boba Fett head. I think the braid and ponytail came from an AOTC Anakin Skywalker head we had floating around, but we're not sure which one it was. With all the custom Jedi action figures we have made so far, we figured it would be cool to have an extra Padawan or two to keep them company.

JEDI PADAWAN

The articulation is pretty terrible, but he is a great background piece.

The second custom action figure required hardly any paint at all. We just used an Clone Wars Embo body and a Greedo head and hands to make this Rodian Crime Boss. We cut and glued the Greedo head peg to the Embo body and Dad made a gauntlet out of a holster we had in our fodder with some plastic detailing glued to it for his left arm. Then Dad painted the gauntlets silver to match one another. A simple 3 minute paint job and you get a brand new figure. We pretend the Rodian Crime Boss is even more powerful than Jabba the Hutt and use him whenever we want to have turf wars between rival organized crime rings on Tatooine. Both action figures should take less than a half hour to make and can really diversify your collection.

Kessel Run Review - Episode 10

If you have been reading our blog for the last few months, you probably have noticed the posts we have been doing of Kessel Run Review. Kessel Run Review is a Youtube show produced by two people, Wookielover1138 and Kessel Run Imports. Their goal is to reach as many Star Wars fans as possible with their awesome new show. Initially they started just doing reviews for fun, but the show quickly grew to where customs and art became a large part of the presentation. The review show is further enhanced by comedic shorts that are just fantastic. They both do the writing and voice-overs, but Kessel Run Imports does all the video and graphics. Both are long time Star Wars fans and customizers themselves. They spend most weeknights working on the show and they have been having a great time. The team started off as best friends and roommates before they were an item and if you ask us they make one great team.

Kessel Run Imports started customizing in 1994 when he made a custom Spawn for a contest in Wizard Magazine in 1994. Then he dabbled around with some sculpting, but didn't do another custom until he made the Geonosian Catacombs Padme in 2009. He later created the Star Wars photocomic fan films Aperture's Eye and Vanishing Point which took about 2 months of free time to make. Although, Aperture's Eye was much more involved taking a whole month just to create the two 3-D scenes. Kessel Run Imports doesn't have any new films in the works at the moment, but his current project is making Trading Card Sets of Customizers.

Be sure to check out the website below to see the photocomics Aperture's Eye and Vanishing Point and their Star Wars custom action figures.
