BAD BATCH CUSTOMS Added to "Customs I Wish I Owned"

Some of the best customizers out in the world, still don't have a social media presence where you can see their work. This is very much the case with Bad Batch Customs. The father and son team from Louisiana have been sending me pictures of their work for a year now and their work is just amazing. They have sent me images of numerous custom Star Wars vehicles as well as an incredible Yavin Base diorama that they built in their garage.

They just sent me a ton of pictures of their latest completed "AT-OT" project that I just had to share with you all. The All Terrain Open Transport (AT-OT) was an eight-legged walker designed for the transportation of infantry used by the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. It was deployed during the Battle of Felucia towards the end of the war.

The project consists of two AT-TE toy frames cut in half, and then secured together to make a four-legged frame. Once the frame was all set, they used a Dremel and Plexiglas to create the remaining shape by cutting up a Force Awakens Millennium Falcon and then shaped those pieces to fit cover the exterior. They said each part was a learning process, but a great learning lesson. Once the basic shape was made. the wiring, magnets, and lights went in.

Check out the video I put together from the pictures and video they sent us. If you look at the background, you will see their epic custom Yavin Base diorama.

Want to see more of their work, well, I just had them set up an Instagram account so you can all continue to follow their future projects. I suggest that you all do!

REVENGE OF THE SITH "DARTH SIDIOUS" created by Darth Daddy

The Darth Sidious action figures from the Revenge of the Sith line were almost all released as statuettes with very little articulation. Former iterations of the character in this time period were pretty much solid plastic from the waist down.  I always wondered what an action figure of the character from the third installment would look like if it were to be released in the modern Vintage Collection.

I used the hands, hood and tabard of the ROTS Emperor Palpatine (the one that turns into Darth Sidious). The rest of the figure is made with the head and body of the Darth Sidious Vintage Collection action figure. To make the new version of the Dark Lord of the Sith, all I had to do was sew a new robe for him to wear. I lucked out finding some heavy red suede-like material to fabricate it from. I did come across an issue when I tried to dress the action figure in the robes that I had made. It was so tight in the waist, I had to boil and pop the shoulders off just to get the garment on.

The pink around his eyes is present, but unfortunately didn't photograph all that well due to wonky lighting in the photoshoot by yours truly. I tried to zoom in close to the face in the picture below, but the resolution isn't all that great. Definitely using the tripod next time!

Solo: A Star Wars Story "Imperial AT Hauler" Building Plans by thewriteguy

This is a prototype for the Imperial AT Hauler from Solo: A Star Wars Story. It's made from cardboard, paperboard, wood coffee stirrers, toothpicks, and clear plastic sheet. It's designed to be a Hasbro-style toy: It features a claw mechanism to grab, hold, and release Hasbro's Imperial AT-DT walker toy.

Like thewriteguy's 1:18 scale U-wing, he intends to release the templates and building plan photos for this AT Hauler for free!

SEASON 3 "SABINE WREN" Custom Action Figure created by ELIAS

This is definitely the most difficult paint job I think I have ever had to do. Between the wing pattern on the jetpack, and the convor on the shoulder pad, the extremely small details were quite the challenge. All the hard work only made me love the action figure more when I finally completed her. I chose not to add articulation to this figure, because in the end, I thought adding articulation might hurt the final product more than it would help it. The joints I had available were just too big to add to the skinny frame and would have ruined her silhouette.

I had to completely resculpt Sabine's hair and add armor to her shins. I also had to do some modifications to tailor fit Commander Cody's jetpack to my Sabine figure. I then utilized magnets to make the jetpack attach to her back so it had the option of being removable.

She came a long way from the Season 2 Sabine Wren action figure we received from Hasbro and I couldn't be happier with the results!
