Custom Action Figure News Episode 69 - CAFN goes to Video Podcasting

It has been a long time coming, but Lucasclones and Tamer had a very enjoyable first run as they made the jump from audio to video podcasting. A few of the items they talked about were: customizing highlights around the web (of course!), new announcements regarding Star Wars Collectibles, the latest Episode 7 rumors including that great new Battlefront Trailer, etc. Now I can't promise a totally glitch free podcast as this is their first time out in this format, but they wanted to work out all the kinks before they get back to their live interviews with the best customizers across the world wide web. And don't worry, for those that like the plain audio format, they will be converting all of these videos to mp3's! And don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel as CAFN begins this new series.

Its time to get your Expanded Universe on for ISY's next Custom Challenge!

The voting has ended and its time to announce the next custom action figure challenge at ISY! Its time to get your Expanded Universe on! Imperial Shipyards wanted to do something to honor all of the wonderful folks out there who have added so much to the Star Wars Universe during the dark years when we had no toys, no movies, not much of anything as a matter of fact. And while it may be termed "legendary" it is definitely near and dear to many of us at ISY.  Click here to read the full contest details.  You have from now until July 12th to create your custom!

DARTH DADDY's CUSTOMIZING CORNER: LUCASCLONES

Darth Daddy's Customizing Corner featured Star Wars customizer Lucasclones in the latest Customizing Corner over at The Star Wars Underworld.

When it comes to Star Wars customs, Chad Hitchcock aka Lucasclones creates some of the best Star Wars clone figures out there today. He's particularly fond of making ARC troopers.

As a commissioned artist, his figures have been some of the best selling I've seen in the community.  Lucasclones is a customizer that dives into everything. He customizes Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Desolation, and several other toy lines. He even created an H.P. Lovecraft inspired custom.

He also has an extremely active Youtube channel complete with figure reviews, tutorials, and custom action figure debuts.

Lucasclone's podcast, Custom Action Figure News, has been gaining traction for a few years now and its creation has been a boon to the custom action figure community. On his show he has interviewed the most famous customizers around. Working with Imperial Shipyards administrator Tamer, his podcast's success has made customizers accessible to their fans, all while providing some great tips on how to make one-of-a-kind toys. His recent addition of "Roundtable" discusssions to his podcast need to be archived for all interested in the artform. These roundtable  discussions feature the experts who have teamed up to provide a free custom action figure education that's worth a fortune to the beginner and advanced customizer alike.

I can't even begin to list the many contributions Lucasclones has brought to the community.  He's definitely an artist to watch.

Custom Action Figure News - Episode #69: JRNY FAN

Custom Action Figure News had an absolute blast talking with Brian aka JRNY FAN this past Thursday. Get yourself a cup of jawa juice, kick back, and listen to Lucasclones and Tamer talk about JRNY FAN's great Kenner inspired play-sets, hear about a cool product called Instamorph that you may want to add to your tool box, as well as a small tutorial and preview of what you are in for if you want to do some of your own 3D Printing. Hats off to JRNY FAN for giving CAFN a bit of his time. Don't forget to visit the ISY CAFN Archive Page where you can find this latest offering as well as all of their past episodes.

We were really happy to hear that this artist was the one being featured.  We here at  home have been wanting to show his work on here for a long time now.  So happy that we can expose you to JRNY FAN if you haven't heard of him already!

CAFN: Episode 67: Twelfth Parsec

CAFN was joined by Brent Picha aka Twelfth Parsec last night to go over in great detail the great Indiegogo Campaign for his Star Wars Inspired Space Trees. This was just an excellent interview with lots of great insight not only into his wonderful new product and how he is bringing that to the masses, but also the complexity doing something like this on a large scale. There were also some great hints about perhaps what projects might be coming next. Don't forget to go to our CAFN Archive Page to get the download link for your favorite device!

CAFN EPISODE #60: Sith_fire30

We always love any opportunity we have to hear Sith_fire30 interviewed and last nights interview on Custom Action Figure News was just as enjoyable as the rest.  We heard  about some great molding and casting products, as well as techniques for how to use them.  Although this episode interview was dominated by talk about his incredible line of figures from the Alien franchise, there was still plenty of time for Star Wars talk regarding work in progress figures of his Star Wars Invasion Sprague and Spider Leg Darth Maul.  Give it a listen, you won't be disappointed.

CAFN Episode 59: Galactic Merchants

CAFN Episode 59: Galactic Merchants

Wow, what a great podcast Custom Action Figure News had with Casey, lead designer for Galactic Merchants: creators of the great new Space Station and Space Cruiser Action Figure Display Dioramas for your 3 3/4" figures. Needless to say they covered the ins and outs of these great new diorama offerings, covered just a ton of member questions, and even talked about future action figure display dioramas. Lets just say we were left just as excited, if not more so, after the interview than we started out being.

CAFN would like to thank Luke Sprywalker, Darth Daddy, and Ratfink's Customs for giving CAFN some time to talk about this.
