This is just a simple astromech repaint.  It only took one day to paint.  This action figure was my first astromech custom and while it was very challenging, it was also extremely rewarding when all was said and done.

The toy was based on a droid I saw from the R2 Builders Club.  The real droid has a glass dome that was completely translucent.  The only astromech dome that I had that was somewhat clear was more opaque.  I like the translucent look best, but I had to work with what was on hand.

Finally had time to sculpt and paint the sleeves on this action figure after it was set aside for over a year.  So glad I wrapped this up and we can place him on the shelf alongside our other two Clone Wars  Chancellor Palpatine action figures.

There are many fans of the show that wished that this character was made in The Clone Wars style, but it just never happened.  There is a good chance if it were created, this would have been what it looked like.

Customizer Spotlight # 44: Pimp2-D2's Pimp Speeder + Exclusive Chauffeur Action Figure by MANLY ART

MANLY ART did an exclusive release of Pimp2-D2's Pimp Speeder + Exclusive Chauffeur action figure for DKE Toys to debut at 2015's San Diego Comic-Con. The run was limited to 30 speeders total. There were no more Speeders or Chauffeurs made in this colorway and they completely SOLD OUT.

Each speeder was a re-purposed vintage 1970's Kenner Land Speeder with custom cast resin windscreen and custom resin seats. The set comes with a custom Chauffeur action figure, sticker sheet and instructions. The sticker sheet includes 3 different designs for the hood in addition to cockpit controls and hood interior.  

This vehicle was a fun addition to our custom collection and one of the most unique gifts under the Christmas tree this past holiday.

Yesterday we received our "First Order Legion" set that was exclusive to Amazon.com.  We were thrilled when we saw that the accessories from these figures could just as easily be used on the Wal-mart exclusive Black Series "First Order Stormtrooper" action figures.  We immediately added the accessories and made super-articulated versions of our two favorite characters from the set.
