"HURID-327" painted by Darth Daddy

HURID-327 was the groundskeeper of Maz Kanata's castle, which was located on the planet Takodana, and was responsible for carrying her guests' luggage. Shortly before its destruction by the First Order, he was passing through the castle's front gate when he crossing paths with a group consisting of the astromech droid BB-8, the smuggler Han Solo, the scavenger Rey and the former stormtrooper Finn, who were entering the castle.

This figure was created from another 3-D print file by Isotelus. He has articulation at the shoulders, wrists, hips and waist. We have been wanting to add this droid from The Force Awakens to our shelves since we saw the film. It is really exciting to have him as part of the collection now!

ASIS FILM MODELS - THE FORCE AWAKENS "NIMA OUTPOST - BOBBAJO KIT" assembled & painted by ELIAS

This is a project we finished earlier in the year but just got around to posting up on the blog. The "Nima Outpost Model Kit for Bobbajo" produced by Asis Film Models is a 3.75" scale figurine and is a great addition to any Star Wars action figure collection. It is an ultra-detailed resin cast that we purchased online. Once we received it in the mail, we then assembled and painted it by hand.

Bobbajo was a male Nu-Cosian[2] with a white beard who lived on Jakku approximately thirty years after the Battle of Endor.[6] He carried a group of animals around in cages, including frog-like gwerps, chicken-like pishnes, a lonlan, two zhhee and an ill-tempered worrt named J'Rrosch.[2][4] His calm demeanor helped settle down the animals while he transported them.[5] He roamed between the settlements of the planet telling stories to local villagers and entertaining children with the talents of his menagerie. He claimed his creatures were responsible for the destruction of the first Death Star, but few believe him. This earned him the names of the "Storyteller" and the "Crittermonger".[2] Bobbajo was the only other vendor known to be allowed to sell food in Niima Outpost by Unkar Plutt. His customers however, were restricted solely to spacers.[7]

Bobbajo was first shown in "Star Wars: Force for Change - A Message from J.J. Abrams", a video released on YouTube in 2014 in which J.J. Abrams introduced the charity campaign Star Wars: A Force for Change. The video was filmed on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens and showed the creature walking behind Abrams while he talked, at one stage drawing the director's attention. He was one of the first new characters from Episode VII to have been shown. He was portrayed by Aidan Cook in the film.

3.75" "CRUSHER" ROODOWN Action Figure painted by Darth Daddy

Roodown, nicknamed "Crusher" Roodown, was an Abednedo scavenger on the planet Jakku that angered his employer, the junk dealer Unkar Plutt, who suspected he was selling salvage to a different buyer. As a consequence, Plutt's thugs cut off his arms, ending his life as a scavenger. However, Roodown was allowed to work for Plutt as a strong back around Niima Outpost using his replacement load-lifter arms, which greatly increased his strength.

He witnessed Plutt being kidnapped by the criminal Zool Zendiat, and described what had happened to the scavenger Rey when she arrived to investigate. When the Star Destroyer Spectral was uncovered by a storm in the desert, Plutt encouraged the scavengers of Niima to ransack it for him and had Roodown throttle the scavenger Teedo when he questioned the junk dealer. Constable Zuvio then sliced off Roodown's mechanical hand in order to stop any further harm befalling Teedo. In 34 ABY, shortly after the First Order attacked the nearby Tuanul village, he passed by Rey in the outpost.

This action figure was made from a very rare cast figure model that was created by ASIS FILM MODELS. It was a limited edition cast and the sculpt is just amazing! When I saw Roodown in The Force Awakens, he was the first character that I knew I wanted an action figure of. Unfortunately, Hasbro never made him. Fortunately for me, ASIS FILM MODELS did. The cast was a lot of fun to paint and I really love the design of the cast. Unlike the majority of ASIS's offerings that are completely static, this cast actually has ball jointed shoulders. He looks great on display with all of our other Force Awakens action figures.

We highly recommend the offerings of ASIS FILM MODELS.

SUPER-ARTICULATED "POE DAMERON" created by Darth Daddy

This was actually a really easy custom to produce.  Once you get past separating the upper torso of The Black Series Finn figure along the seams to free up both the arms, all you have to do is drill the shoulder sockets of The Black Series Cassian Andor figure to accept them.  Switch the jackets, hands, and remove the holster and then paint the pants and boots before laying The Black Series Poe Dameron head on top of the Cassian Andor body.  Oh yeah we also used a Dremel to hard sculpt the flap of the Cassian Andor shirt to make it look like Poe's. After all that was completed, all that was left to do was the neckline a little lower and add a brown wash to the jacket to wrap things up.

SUPER-ARTICULATED "REY (JAKKU)" created by Customs for the Kid

If only Hasbro provided consumers with a greater selection of super-articulated figures, or at the very least treat their consumer of the Black Series version of the Rey with all three heads for the character to justify the premium prices that they charge.  This version of the desert scavenger is just a simple head swap using the 5POA "Rogue One" Rey (Jakku) head with the Black Series body of Rey.  The combination looks great and the most lengthy part of the customizing process was opening the package for the two figures the parts came from.

One day we would love to see Hasbro return to a larger super-articulated line and ditch the 5POA line all together. Until then, we have to create figures like this Jakku Rey by purchasing two figures to create the one we really want.

Super-Articulated "First Order Riot Control Stormtrooper" & "First Order Heavy Artillery Stormtrooper" created by Customs for the Kid

Yesterday we received our "First Order Legion" set that was exclusive to Amazon.com.  We were thrilled when we saw that the accessories from these figures could just as easily be used on the Wal-mart exclusive Black Series "First Order Stormtrooper" action figures.  We immediately added the accessories and made super-articulated versions of our two favorite characters from the set.
