BITH ENDOR REBEL SOLDIER created by Darth Daddy

After Dad finished making me an Ithorian Rebel Soldier, Dad wanted to create a few more alien Endor Rebel soldiers. Dad saw a cool dark skinned Bith action figure created a few years ago by Von Reinhardt Customs.  Ever since Dad saw the figure, he wanted to do a variation on the theme.  When Dad went to create a new Endor Rebel soldier, he felt the time had come to make one.  To make this figure, Dad used a Bith head cast that was created by Sithhappens, and placed it on a G.I. Joe Renegades Ripcord action figure.  Then Dad just repainted the figure.

I really like what Dad has been making lately and I can't wait to see what he does next.

Peak-OB1's Video Updated on the "Customs I Wish I Owned" Page

Chad Peak (aka: Peakob1 or CAP) has been a Star Wars fan all his life. He makes customs for the love of the hobby and you won't find a more dedicated fan. He hopes one day that he can have an entire custom collection personalized to him. He never seeks financial gain by doing his customs, although Peakob1 has done a few commissions at reasonable prices. He started customizing in '95. He doesn't count some of the vintage Ewoks that he colored over with black and brown markers as a kid.

Peakob1 refers to his style of customizing as "hard sculpting" opposed to using sculpy to mold his own figures. He uses bits of existing parts and dremels those down to make a new result. He believes that it makes for a much stronger figure because he's a little like Jar Jar, "hesa clumsy" and often drops figures. Usually they don't break if he builds them properly. He finds customizing very exciting and he has many projects on the horizon. Hope you enjoy his customs!

He displays his customs on Yakface, Droids and Ewoks, and Jedi Defender.

Bring on the Barge! Star Wars Fan Site Petition

Bring on the barge! In order for us to approach Hasbro with this petition, we would like at least 10,000 signatures supporting this cause, and sadly we are far, far behind, so would you kindly sign the petition? Do your part to help make this 3.75" scaled vehicle a reality so it can sail its way into your collection! Hasbro has hinted that they'd love to make a Sail Barge, but they'd like to gauge things like interest, cost and other things from collectors. Here is your chance!

The collective goal here is to garner a significant amount of signatures from Star Wars collectors by January 31, 2013. We will then take these results with us and submit them to Hasbro at NY Toy Fair in February. With your support we hope that the iconic Sail Barge vehicle can be realized in a very exciting vehicle/playset for the 3.75" line. But it won't happen without you! So please sign the petition! After you sign it, be sure to leave some of your thoughts in the comments module below where you can discuss desired price points, features you want to see included and just general discussion about this awesome vehicle! Thank you for your support!

No Paint Kitbash Rally Weekend

So today is the last day of Imperial Shipyards No Paint Kitbash Rally.  After I saw the Ithorian Endor Rebel Soldier that Dad made for the rally on Friday, I knew I wanted in on the action before the event came to a close.  I ended up making four NPKB action figures before the weekend was over and Dad made two more for the event as well, although Dad says the Ithorian from Friday is still his favorite.

The first custom action figure I made was a Clawdite Jedi.  My dad's friend Brad, sent a text to my Dad on Thursday of a photo that had a plastic bin full of Star Wars figures with a label that read "Star Wars Figures - $2 each".  Dad called him right away and picked up some really cheap fodder.  The body for my Clawdite came from a Clone Wars Ki Adi Mundi that was in that plastic bin.  The forearms that I used came from the "new" Clone Wars Obi-wan Kenobi that I had under the tree ay Christmas.  We had removed Obi-wan's arms from the figure and replaced them with the arms of the previous release of the character to give the new sculpt articulated wrists.  It would be cool if this Clawdite had the articulated wrists, but I like the way he came out overall.  I grabbed an alternate Zam Wessel head to finish the figure off.

 Just another simple head swap.

To create the Naboo Peasant action figure, I asked Dad to hollow out the Padme Amidala hood.  Dad carefully cut out Padme's face in case we ever wanted to use it later, and then used a Dremmel to hollow out the hood so it could be slipped over a Zam Wessel head.  Once that was done, my design was complete.

This weekend is our friend Wookielover1138's birthday, so we figured we'd make a figure to commemorate her special day for giving us all her wonderful Kessel Run Review webisodes.  Dad used the Zam Wessel torso upper arms and upper legs and paired them with the head, lower arms and legs of a Clone Wars Chewbacca.  He made some adjustments to Zam Wessel's helmet, cutting it into three separate pieces that still fit snugly on the ball jointed head of the figure because of the way the optical unit held it all together.  I love the way Dad designed the helmet, because it came out looking like the helmet transforms when in different positions.  I can even shake the figure upside down and it all stays intact no matter what position it's in.  Dad said he may paint this figure sometime in the future, but right now he's more concerned about creating some Ewoks for Mr. Black's Customs.

The last figure Dad made was a Devaronian Movie Star that he created using a Marvel Absorbing Man action figure and cut off the ends of the ponytail from two G.I. Joe Scarlet heads that we had in our fodder to create the Devaronian's horns.  To accessorize the figure, Dad used the shirt of a POTF Momaw Nadon, armour from a Clone Wars Thi-sen action figure, as well as the shawl of a AOTC Lott Dodd action figure.  Dad's having a hard time sticking to a fashion choice for this figure, because he likes all three looks.  He also would like to paint this figure too one day.
