SW CUSTOM CARDBACKS

A big thanks to Logan Cross of the Wolfpack Podcast !  He is one of the designers over at SW Custom Cardbacks and he sent me a card that he designed for my "Promotional Photo" Luke Skywalker custom action figure. His cardbacks are amazing!  We definitely recommend going to this artist if you are ever interested in giving one of your custom Star Wars action figures the royal treatment.  We loved the thickness of the card.  It's a bit thicker than the one used by Kenner or Hasbro which really helps to prevent it from ever being damaged.  We fully endorse the product this artist is putting out!

He also sent me this cardback as a bonus.  Once I get the parts, I may give this figure a try.

DARTH DADDY's CUSTOMIZING CORNER: WookieBalls Customs

Darth Daddy's Customizing Corner featured Star Wars customizer WookieBalls Customs in the latest Customizing Corner over at The Star Wars Underworld.

Ray McDonald aka WookieBalls Customs started to post his Star Wars custom action figures on the web about a year after I started to customize.  When he started to post, I knew right away that he was going to be a customizer to be reckoned with.  He was definitely my favorite newcomer that year.  His art was always very welcoming to the eyes.  Years later and he is still at it and even more impressive than ever.  Customizing in a variety of scales and when not making something new, restoring some of his old Vintage toys, WookieBalls is always keeping busy.

When I saw he started a special Star Wars custom action figure sale a few hours ago on his Facebook page, I knew he was the artist I had to feature this week.  If you hurry over to his page, you may be a one of the lucky individuals able to procure one of his beautiful pieces of art.  Be sure to take a look at his offerings on the Facebook link below.  A lot of these customs are carded and look absolutely beautiful.  Hopefully, you get there before his figures are all sold out.

CLONE WARS "CAPTAIN TYPHO" by ELIAS

This was a quick action figure Elias made after he saw it made by Star Wars customizer Peakob1.  He realized we had all the parts he needed and decided to make one himself.  He just used the head and helmet of an AOTC Captian Typho with the Clone Wars Anakin Skywalker that came with the mini-rig Naboo Fighter to create Captain Typho in Clone Wars form.  It was a quick and easy figure that took less than an hour to create.

DARTH DADDY'S CUSTOMIZING CORNER: SJEFKE OF YUZZUMS' CUSTOMS

Darth Daddy's Customizing Corner featured Star Wars customizer Sjefke of Yuzzums' Customs in the latest Customizing Corner over at The Star Wars Underworld.

A customizer does not need a large body of work to be a great customizer.  My two favorite customs produced this year were made by a relative newcomer to the Star Wars custom action figure community.  Jeff Thompson aka Sjefke of Yuzzums' Customs has created some superlative customs since he jumped onto the scene.  Sjefke ran right out of the gate making fully sculpted action figures with extremely complex builds that even the most experienced customizers would consider a challenge to reproduce.  His Cane Adiss action figure tied my Chukha Trok and Kaink action figures for the Grand Prize at Yakface.com's Yakfinities #50 and when you look at his figure it's easy to see why.  Sjefke has some serious talent.   Sjefke customizes with and for his kids, and there is no greater incentive to make something cool than being inspired by your own children.

His forum posts describe each build in great detail so if you think you'd ever want to try and rebuild what he has created, Sjefke provides a great step-by-step guide to help his readers along the way.

I'm a huge fan of his Wam "Blam" Lufba action figure.  It's by far, one of the best I ever saw.  I'd love to have one in my own collection one day.

I can't wait to see what he produces next.  I'm always eager to check out his thread whenever I see a new post.  He's definitely one of my favorite new customizers on the scene.  Be sure to keep an eye out.  We will be following his career with great interest!
