CAFN Episode 34: Sillof Innovations Interview

STAR WARS PODCASTS

CAFN had a blast talking with Jamie of Sillof's custom's. Sillof is a guy who loves the hobby and has had a great deal of experience in it. He has been working on figures since the 90's!  He will be leading a customizing panel at Celebration VI with Sith_fire30 and Luke Sprywalker.  I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that one!

Listen up and get all the details.

You can see custom action figures created by Sillof here:

http://www.sillof.com/

We also recommend checking out his "Toy Wars" film series where he brings his action figures and dioramas to life at this link here:

CAFN Episode 33: Tankster Innovations Interview

STAR WARS PODCASTS

Another great interview with another super talented customizer.  Listen to this interview with Tankster Innovations.  He gives a super cool customizing tip on how you can use a hot glue gun to create some really impressive fire effects.  Check out the links below to see his work (I recommend his Joe albums on Facebook!)

CAFN: Episode 32 - Roundtable - State of Collecting

STAR WARS PODCASTS

Dad missed taking part in this episode due to unforseen circumstances. In this roundtable Custom Action Figure News tried to stay positive as they discussed the dismal state of collecting right now and the distribution issues that seem to be the root of it all. Is collecting a dying hobby? Find out as they delve into it with former guests Luke Sprywalker and Wraithnine as well as, newcomer and admin of Jedi Temple Archives, Paul Harrison. Listen as they offer their opinions, theories and conspiracies on the state of collecting today. (download)

On another note tech issues struck in the form of an echo due to the live broadcast. Good news is they discovered the issue and will have that resolved for next show. Live feature is not going anywhere.

CAFN interviews Frank Diorio

STAR WARS PODCASTS

Frank Diorio is a well known commodity as it comes to customizing and especially diorama building. His Niub Niub's Universe was a host for thousands of free printables that allowed many of us to build our own playsets for our figures, beasties, and vehicles. Frank is definitely back with a great new website called www.dioramaworkshop.com and he was kind enough to give CAFN a few minutes to talk about his upcoming Diorama Workshop he will be hosting at C6. Be sure to give this link a look please to see how you can help Frank make C6 even better!

CAFN Episode 29 - Diorama Building Roundtable

STAR WARS PODCASTS

Custom Action Figure News just keeps getting better and better.  We are loving this roundtable format.  It's just awesome that they are alternating their podcasts between the interview and roundtable format, because we never want the interviews to stop, but this roundtable is equally cool.  We had an absolute blast listening to Barry (R1bb1t) and Scott (Spooky Mufu) talk about the art of diorama making. There are just a ton of tips to starting your own dioramas and what you can do to make them awesome. They even had a very special guest, none other than legendary Frank D'iorio, who showed up at the end and shared his own thoughts about diorama making and gave everyone a special Celebration 6 Sneak Peek.

CAFN Episode 27- CAFN Roundtable - Parts Casting Masters

STAR WARS PODCASTS

Custom Action Figure News' first run at the roundtable hit a few glitches, and unfortunately, never saw the light of day. We have a feeling it was really awesome, but since both of their recorders crapped out, the world will never know.  Originally Remco of Incom's Customs and Doc Outlands participated on the roundtable, but they weren't available to come back for the redo. Good news is CAFN's new recorder seems to be awesome and they are back in business. Thankfully, Sith_fire30 and Clonehead were still available for the second attempt. If they could not have come on there would have no roundtable.  We here at CFTK were super happy to listen to this particular episode because it focused on the latest aspect of action figure customizing that we are looking to add to our repertoire.

Enjoy!

CAFN Episode 27 - Lucasclones Interview

STAR WARS PODCASTS

Lucasclones, Luke Sprywalker and Tamer gave us a great little teaser for the Lucasclones interview on Custom Action Figure News this week where our own Darth Daddy assisted Tamer in interviewing Lucasclones about starting Custom Action Figure News, his own custom action figures, his Youtube videos, selling art on ebay, and the start of his new blog.

STAR WARS PODCASTS

Lucasclones is a customizer of mostly custom Star Wars clone and Mandalorian action figures. He particularly favors ARC troopers and has been alongside fellow customizer Wraithnine creating some Republic commando squads. He is very proud of his Clone Wars style Delta and Omega squad from the Republic Commando novels. His work can be found on Imperial Shipyards Custom Figure Forums and on Flickr, as well as featured in his videos from Youtube. He also customizes G.I.Joe figures and posts them on his Flickr photostream and on a G.I.Joe fan website called Joedios. Host of the podcast Custom Action Figure News with Imperial Shipyards administrator Tamer, Lucasclones sheds the light on the hobby we all love.  His show is a must listen!

CAFN: Episode 25 - WookieBalls

Episode 25 - WookieBalls

What a great listen. Ray of WookieBalls customs was a super informative guest. Great customizing tips, where he gets his gear, and entertaining too. Tamer cut out early, but Lucasclones held down the fort. Keep a pen and pad at your side, your going to want to take notes.
