CLONE WARS "R4-M1" created by Elias

R4-M1 was an R4-series agromech droid that was present inside the Jedi Temple around 21 BBY. When Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu were trapped on the Endurance at Vanqor, R2-D2 rushed into the Temple to play their distress message, jostling the R4 unit as he sped past. It was seen with an unidentified blue R5 unit. It was later seen aboard CC-3636's transport during the Mission to Aleen and then on Adi Gallia's flagship during the Battle of Patitite Pattuna, and was able to escape the cruiser before it exploded.  We even spotted this droid smashing into the wall of a home located in a village ravaged by Maul and Savage in the season finale for Season Four of the show.

R4-M1 was the droid equivalent to Pune Zignat in The Clone Wars television series. The droid can be seen numerous times in the background of many episodes. A frequently used character asset, I have been wanting to make this droid for quite a long time now.

To create the figure, I used the lower half of the The Clone Wars R7-D4 and the head of a Build A Droid R4-J1.

CUSTOMIZER SPOTLIGHT #46: "Death Star Detention Block AA-23 - Cell 2187 Diorama" created by reanimationtoys

reanimationtoys saw Star Wars in the summer of '77.  He said his 7 year old mind was blown away. He made figures from Lok Bloks, before figures were available, and made a TIE-Fighter and X-Wing out of cardboard for his Fisher Price astronaut figures. Later he made a sandcrawler from a large chocolate easter bunny box. He used to put his record player speakers behind his cantina and played cantina band (Moog) over and over and over! Back in '80, reanimationtoys made an AT-AT out of wood, and still laughs at the loose legs as it would not stand up at all!

These vehicular creations were accompanied by various custom figures in those years of characters which were not produced. Unfortunately, only one survives, a Grand Moff Tarkin made from an Imperial officer.

Too cool in the mid-late 80's for "toys", reanimationtoys interest in all things plastic was jump started again in '95 when the "He-man" POTF Star Wars figures arrived. The bug bit again. and the bite hasn't left since. reanimationtoys started dioramas in '01, and actually started with a 2001:Space Odyssey diorama, which he still hast although incomplete. Building dioramas is a way for reanimationtoys to watch and enjoy Star Wars over and over again while "checking that particular pipe in the corner of that room" or "seeing exactly where the blast marks are on that fuselage". reanimationtoys loves building these and only wishes he had more time to devote to each. Although he readily admits that if he had more time, he'd probably still be on his first project!

reanimationtoys "Death Star Detention Block AA-23 Diorama" was a great addition to the Death Star display shelves here at Customs for the Kid.  The LED's make his beautiful diorama even cooler!

We included a video slideshow below the pictures of the diorama we purchased so you can enjoy two other projects that he recently completed that are both "FOR SALE" on eBay now.  The link to his eBay page is included below as well!

"STAR WARS REBELS - IMPERIAL COMBAT DRIVER & 614-AvA SPEEDER BIKE" created by Customs for the Kid

May the 4th be with you!  To celebrate today's festivities, we figured we'd release a project that was inspired by the first scenes that we were introduced to the crew of the Ghost on "Star Wars Rebels: Spark of the Rebellion".  We knew it was a project we needed to do once Ezra's Speeder Bike was released.

Imperial Combat Drivers or AT-DP Pilots were a special brand of Imperial pilots, that operated exclusively with the All Terrain Defense Pod walkers and several other Imperial vehicles such 614-AvA Speeder Bikes and Imperial Troop Transports. When driving ITTs, they were outfitted with darker-colored suits.

AT-DP Pilots were well trained, and were equipped with heavy armor. An 614-AvA Speeder Bike (also known as an Imperial Speeder Bike) were a series of speeder bikes used by the Galactic Empire. Manufactured by Aratech Repulsor Company, these speeder bikes were armed with twin laser cannons located at the front and work alongside All Terrain Defense Pod walkers and TIE Fighters to form a high-speed strike force, cutting down escaping rebels.

Speeder Bikes were ideal for long-distance scouting missions and patrolling large areas with minimal use of fuel or personnel. More nimble than Troop Transports, they allowed Stormtroopers to survey difficult terrain or chase after fleeing suspects. It could also tow up to two crates.

To complete this project, we just needed to do a repaint the armor of the AT-DP Pilot to match the colors of the Imperial Combat Drivers on Speeder Bikes, and to repaint Ezra's Speeder Bike white. Elias painted the Speeder Bike and Darth Daddy repainted the Imperial Combat Driver.  It took about half a day of work, and we love the results.
