Voort saBinring, or "Piggy" (X-wing: Wraith Squadron)

Colin Hobbs of Bedwas, Wales is, hands down, the most prolific customizer of Star Wars action figures in the entire world.  I thought I made a lot of custom action figures, Colin's output is just mind blowing.  He's tackled a lot of customs of Star Wars characters that I've seen no one else make.  Colin creates almost an action figure a day and his Facebook page is full of Star Wars figures from the galaxy far, far away.  He's made so many figures that I was overwhelmed when I had to decide what I should post.  After hours of trying to decide, I contacted Colin and asked him for his favorites.  A bulk of these photos were Colin's favorites, but I just had to add a few of my own too.  If you are a fan of Star Wars customs, you have to follow Colin.  You definitely want his creations in your Facebook feed.

Colin doesn't really post in the fan forums because he doesn't have a computer, so he posts his figures on Facebook after he snaps a shot of his latest creation with his camera phone.  If you spend your time on Star Wars fan sites, this is one of the customizing masters you may have missed out on.

Not only does he create a lot of modern looking Star Wars custom action figures,  but he also creates a lot of great custom Vintage action figures too.  So if you were never a fan of the modern Star Wars action figure line, Colin is a customizer that has a little something for everyone.  Make sure you follow his work!

"MARROK - EMBO's ANOOBA" created by Customs for the Kid

Marrok was an Anooba owned by the bounty hunter Embo. Marrok was featured prominently in The Clone Wars episodes "Bounty", "Revenge", as well as in the new Clovis arc just released in Season 6 of The Clone Wars on Netflix. Dad really wanted to add this cool Star Wars creature to our collection since Embo's companion Marrok took part in a lot of the action filled scenes that he starred in. Dad always had an interest in creating some of the creatures of Star Wars and always wanted to make the jump from Star Wars characters to their less sentient companions. Marrok would have been an awesome addition to The Clone Wars toy line if he was included as a pack in with a re-carding of Embo. Unfortunately, this repack of Embo with Marrok accessory will never come to be now that Hasbro's Clone Wars action figure line is no more.

To produce this Marrok, I created a 3D print file of him that I designed in Blender. I then scaled the model in Chitubox as an accessory for The Clone Wars Embo action figure and when finished, printed it on a our Longer Orange 30 resin printer. After we had a successful print, we molded that print with Smooth-On Mold Max 14NV and cast the figure in Smooth Cast 61D resin. Once taken out of the pressure pot and demolded, Dad and I took turns applying the paint to our figure and I painted in the final details. We love how he looks next to Embo!

DARTH DADDY's CUSTOMIZING CORNER: CHEWIE

Darth Daddy's Customizing Corner featuring Star Wars customizer Chewie in the latest Customizing Corner over at The Star Wars Underworld.

I can't tell you how happy I am to present you with this week's artist in my next installment of DARTH DADDY's CUSTOMIZING CORNERJustin Cook, who is also known in the Yakface Forums as Yak_Chewie is by far one of the most talented and creative customizers out there today. Chewie is an administrator over at Yakface Forums and he oversees the custom creations part of the forum where I first received the foundation for my own customizing education.

Anyone who's looking for inspiration to build a custom action figure or needs a kitbashing recipe to follow need not to look any further, Chewie has more recipes than a cookbook.

His great body of work landed him the lead off spot on the Customs for the Kid "Customs I Wish I Owned" archive page.  He was the first artist that I ever featured on the Customs for the Kid blog.  Chewie has made over a hundred action figures over the years and they are all figures I'd love to have in our Star Wars custom action figure collection.  Chewie was my most dominant influence as a customizer when I first started to make action figures of my own.  Chewie's work opened up my imagination and helped me realize that as a customizer, I now had the opportunity to create my own Star Wars stories with Star Wars characters of my own invention.  If you watch the video we posted of his customs you'll immediately see that his body of work is something special.

Chewie is also the creator of "The Enloe Chronicles" photonovel series which is probably known to be one of the most famous Star Wars photonovels ever made.  The Enloe Trials photonovel series is what's driving Chewie to customize more than anything else. The latest chapter in his most recent story is just another awesome Star Wars adventure where a group of heroes race to locate an ancient Sith artifact before it falls into the hands of The Emperor.

This week I'm going to present Chewie's custom action figures the way he does in the forums.  Complete with their recipes so you can all have the opportunity to try and recreate them if you so wish.
