Anyone who's looking for inspiration to build a custom action figure or needs a kitbashing recipe to follow need not to look any further, Chewie has more recipes than a cookbook.
His great body of work landed him the lead off spot on the Customs for the Kid "Customs I Wish I Owned" archive page. He was the first artist that I ever featured on the Customs for the Kid blog. Chewie has made over a hundred action figures over the years and they are all figures I'd love to have in our Star Wars custom action figure collection. Chewie was my most dominant influence as a customizer when I first started to make action figures of my own. Chewie's work opened up my imagination and helped me realize that as a customizer, I now had the opportunity to create my own Star Wars stories with Star Wars characters of my own invention. If you watch the video we posted of his customs you'll immediately see that his body of work is something special.
Chewie is also the creator of "The Enloe Chronicles" photonovel series which is probably known to be one of the most famous Star Wars photonovels ever made. The Enloe Trials photonovel series is what's driving Chewie to customize more than anything else. The latest chapter in his most recent story is just another awesome Star Wars adventure where a group of heroes race to locate an ancient Sith artifact before it falls into the hands of The Emperor.
This week I'm going to present Chewie's custom action figures the way he does in the forums. Complete with their recipes so you can all have the opportunity to try and recreate them if you so wish.

DARTH DADDY TAKES THE GRAND PRIZE AT YAKFINITIES #50 IN A TIE WITH STAR WARS CUSTOMIZER SJEFKE!
Re: Yakfinities #50 - THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY
by YAK_Chewie » Fri Jan 17, 2014 12:00 pm
Time to announce the Grand Prize Winner(s)!"After a very tough vote, the Yakface Staff could not decide on one single winner. We felt that we had to go with two winners. This was not expected, so we felt it would only be fair to double up on the Grand Prize. So both winners will EACH receive the Droid Factory Wave... and those winners are:
- Cane Adiss by Sjefke
- Ewoks by Darth Daddy
"Great work by both of you, and everyone who took part in Yakfinities
#50! There were quite a few other entries that had consideration for
this too - this was tough! I'm glad that these are usually random prize
winners only!
Everyone else... sit tight! In a couple days we'll conclude with the complete Roundup Report, as well as the 3 RANDOM PRIZE WINNERS." - YAK_Chewie

"Sjefke, if I was one of the judges for this
contest you totally would have taken the prize all by yourself and there
would be no tie. Your Cane Adiss action figure is my pick for Star
Wars custom action figure of the year in 2013! What I wouldn't give to have
that action figure! The amount of articulation you added to that figure
was admirable, just astounding! You should definitely mold
and cast your headsculpts. I really love how you documented your entire process. So much work went into it, and it totally paid off. I tip my
hat.
Can't tell you what an honor it is to win the Grand Prize at Yakfinities #50. I'm on Cloud 9. This is the first forum I ever started showing my figures in and this win will always hold a lot of sentimental value for me. It was #50! How Cool! So many amazing entries from so many talented artists. Can't wait to see the round up report!
I bet you Remco's happy. He owns the winning pair.

*Remco - Makes me feel a little less guilty that I was so late getting those Ewoks done now that they were one of the Yakfinities #50 winning figures. Glad I sent you something prize worthy after all that procrastinating."

Yakface Secret Santa 2012
So for the last three years now, Dad has been participating in Yakface.com's Secret Santa event. It has always been a huge provider of Christmas spirit in our home and was a real influence on Dad's decision to run a Secret Santa over at Imperial Shipyards this year. This year, Dad was assigned Star Wars customizer Justin Cook aka Chewie as the recipient of his holiday custom creations. Chewie had us our first year participating in the event and he was kind enough to send us two custom action figures rather than just the single required figure the event promoted.
Dad wanted to return the favor when he participated in this year's event. Because Chewie was a fan of Dad's zombie custom action figures and hints that Chewie dropped regarding his upcoming New Enloe Photonovel Chapter, Dad thought Justin would appreciate two unique Star Wars zombies. Dad was really excited, and a little intimidated about creating custom action figures for one of his all-time favorite Star Wars customizers. Dad was thrilled when Chewie said he received the action figures and loved them. Keep your eyes peeled in future chapters of Chewie's photonovel. You may just see these guys in a chapter featuring the undead.

JUSTIN COOK aka CHEWIE VIDEO UPDATED in "CUSTOMS I WISH I OWNED"
Justin Cook, who is also known in the Yakface Forums as Chewie is by far one of the most talented customizers out there. He is an administrator over at Yakface Forums and he oversees the custom creations part of the forum. He is also the creator of "The Enloe Chronicles" which is probably known to be the most famous Star Wars photonovels there is. He has such an incredible body of work. CUSTOMIZER SPOTLIGHT #12: JUSTIN COOK aka CHEWIE
CUSTOMIZER SPOTLIGHT #12: JUSTIN COOK aka YAK_CHEWIE
Can't tell you how happy we are to present you with another edition of our Customizer Spotlight. Justin Cook, who is also known in the Yakface Forums as Yak_Chewie is by far one of the most talented and creative customizers out there. Anyone looking for inspiration for a custom action figure or an action figure recipe needs to look no further, Yak_Chewie has more recipes than a cookbook. His great body of work has already landed him a spot on our "Customs I Wish I Owned" page and if you watch the video we posted of his customs you'll immediately see that his body of work is something special.

We recently mentioned on our blog that we participated this year in Yakface's Secret Santa and showed you the Zombie Jedi gift that we sent out to Mungo Baobab. Well, I can't express how happy we were when we received our yellow plastic bubble mailer and saw the name J. Cook in the upper left hand corner of the package. We were even more excited when we could feel not one but two action figures inside the package. Below is a quick video showing the joy a great customizing activity can bring when you participate in one of the community projects you can find located at a customizing forum.

SECRET SANTA GIFT ARRIVES
Yak_Chewie sent us these two incredibly awesome action figures for Christmas:
JEDI MASTER
We love the color scheme that was used on the sleeves and robes. It really brought out the potential for customizing the Starkiller action figure.
SKIFF GUARD
If you watch the video for Yak_Chewie in our "Customs I Wish I Owned" page, this figure you will find. Yes... I realize I just talked like Yoda.

UBESE TRACKER
Dad's latest custom was inspired by an Ubese action figure created by Yak_Chewie. Dad says he really likes the way his custom action figure came out, but he likes the Ubese action figure that was made by Yak_Chewie much better. Yak_Chewie's paint application is just so well done. Instead of copying Yak_Chewie's action figure, Dad decided to make a faster and less detailed version of the figure that I think still captures what it is that makes this action figure cool.
Dad made this custom from a G.I. Joe Snake Eyes (Paris Pursuit) action figure, a head of an unknown G.I. Joe action figure, and the helmet/mask of the new Princess Leia in Boush disguise that you can find all over retail stores now.
It was an extremely quick custom to make and way too much fun to to not take the effort to have it in our collection.
UBESE TRACKER
INSPIRED BY:
This Ubese custom action figure created by Yak_Chewie was the inspiration for Dad's latest creation. Dad loved the way Yak_Chewie combined the long hooded jacket with the Ubese helmet. Dad knew as soon as he saw it that he wanted to make one too. You can see more from Yak_Chewie in our "Customs I Wish I Owned" page.
