FROM LEMON TO LEMONADE - THE BLACK SERIES 3.75" "ENDOR HAN SOLO"

We can't deny that when we first heard that Hasbro planned to release a repack of the Endor Han Solo in The Black Series Wal-mart exclusive line, a few unfavorable words might have been said in their direction.  Immediately, we thought the company was unloading all their warehouse overstock at an exorbitant cost to their consumers.  Now, while that certainly could still be the case in this instance, we did our best to take a bad situation and still make the most of it. Truth be told, using this action figure for customizing fodder helped us add a few characters to our collection that we had always really wanted and his release ended up becoming a blessing in disguise.

We used the camouflage jacket from Han Solo to make the jackets for both Atheloe and Ownellco. We shortened all the legs and arms of the figure to create the body for Rycar Ryjerd.  These were all much desired characters we wanted to add to our Mos Eisley Cantina display.

We were even able to articulate our Force Awakens Han Solo action figure by using the arms and upper torso of the Endor figure.

All in all, we sheepishly admit that we are really happy this figure was released after all.  Without his release we would have missed out on four figures we have really grown to love seeing on our collection shelves.

Next, for your viewing pleasure, we have some new items from Hole In The Ground Productions. We have featured multiple items from this store in the past. We always look forward to their new offerings and their latest releases sure don't disappoint!

Archway

This archway matches the height of their other wall panels and 7.5" wide. It is 1/4" thick and not free standing.

$15

Starship Doorway

The Starship Doorway is the same width as the Starship (center column) wall. The doorway comes with decals.

The Starship door is made to fit on the doorway. It does not rest on the same level so it must be glued into place.

If you want to use the doorway at the end of a corridor, it would make the corridor narrow, so for a wider corridor, they have wall extensions.

$15 Doorway

$6 Starship Door

$5 Wall Extensions

Debris piece

This construct can be used for almost anything. (perhaps a stadium for a flea circus!) Unlike their other kits that are resin cast, this item includes two pieces of cut PVC tube and a series of precision cut interlocking plastic parts. The assembled part is 4.5" diameter and 1.5" tall.

$20

CLONE WARS "MAUL SUPER COMMANDO" created by Darth Daddy

This action figure was created for an action figure swap with a friend that you all may know as Star Wars customizer TheRealMarch4th.  We already had a version of the character in our own collection that was created by Peak-OB1 Custom Creations.

The figure was mainly a repaint of the Clone Wars Death Watch action figure with an addition of horns and spikes fabricated from some old rubber Jedi robes that could absorb impact if the figure was ever dropped to keep the embellishments intact.

We really liked the way the figure came out!

STAN ADDED TO "CUSTOMS I WISH I OWNED"

Stan has done something that we have been wanting to accomplish for a long time, fill in a Mos Eisley Cantina and Jabba Palace display with many of the unreleased characters that were never turned into action figures. He even took some of the characters that had been released and improved upon them by adding articulation and more screen accuracy.  We have been slowing adding some of these figures to our collection and hope to fill in our shelves as well as Stan has with his collection.

We had the pleasure of becoming friends with this Star Wars custom action figure artist earlier this year and we are really impressed with his creations. Recently, he started making some head casts of some of his original sculpts and sent some samples to some of us in the customizing community.  We were big fans of the Tzizvvt and Atheloe head sculpts that we received, and we highly recommend following this artist's work as he continues to create his noteworthy contributions!

"NED KIERKEGUARD - JABBA's MERCENARY PILOT" created by Darth Daddy

Ned Kierkeguard was employed by Jabba the Hutt. He was a guard on the second skiff during the Battle of the Great Pit of Carkoon in 4 ABY, where he was kicked by Luke Skywalker into the Sarlacc and fell to his death. This guard wore a tan outfit, black helmet and carried a DL-18 Blaster Pistol.

The action figure was produced with the head and body of the Hoth 3-pack AT-ST Driver and the helmet and harness of a G.I. Joe Retaliation Cobra Trooper action figure.  A few modifications were made to the harness and the helmet to improve screen accuracy.

"VUL TAZAENE" created by Darth Daddy

This action figure was a project that was inspired by Star Wars action figure customizer, Jabbapalacespy over in the Rebelscum customizing forum. I copied his recipe with just a small modification using the Vintage Weequay Skiff Master body, the forearms of a Comic Pack Luke Skywalker and the head of Sephjet Josall from the Target Geonosis 2-pack. Jabbapalacespy used the forearms of a Comic Pack Talon Karrde. I lengthened the sleeves with some Green Stuff and painted the sculpt black and added a glossy coat of paint to the tunic. It was nice to add another Jabba character to our display!

Vul Tazaene was a male Kiffar security officer from the planet Kiffex. By 4 ABY, he was looking for a pair of identical twin con artists called the Tonnika sisters. He had also fallen in love with one of them, though he was not sure if it was Brea or Senni Tonnika. That year, Tazaene was present in the crime lord Jabba the Hutt's palace on the planet Tatooine when Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker arrived in an attempt to rescue his friend Han Solo. Tazaene also accompanied the Hutt to his luxury sail barge, the Khetanna, when Skywalker and Solo were taken to be executed at the Great Pit of Carkoon. The captives fought back, however, and the sail barge was ultimately destroyed.
